Denise Andrea Campbell a purpose-driven executive leader with a successful history of delivering transformational change on social justice issues. Before joining the City of Toronto, she worked internationally on race and gender policies in numerous United Nations forums and the African Union, developed strategies community funders like the JW McConnell Foundation, and drove equity initiatives for the Students Commission and the Centre of Excellence on Youth Engagement.
Denise joined the Toronto Public Service in 2004 as a Community Development Worker and quickly progressed to more senior positions. An insightful strategist who expertly drives systems to make meaningful change with communities, she managed the Toronto Strong Neighbourhoods Strategy, and developed the Toronto Poverty Reduction Strategy and the Toronto Action Plan to Confront Anti-Black Racism.
