Rowan Barrett JR

ROWAN “R. J.” BARRETT JR. (born June 14, 2000) is a Canadian basketball player who attends Montverde Academy in Florida.

Barrett was unanimously ranked as the number one recruit from all scouting websites for the class of 2019, but decided to reclassify to the class of 2018, where he reclaimed the top spot in recruitment rankings. After receiving scholarship offers from all the top NCAA basketball programs, he committed to play for Duke in 2018.

In 2017, he received MVP distinction at Basketball Without Borders during the NBA All-Star Weekend. Barrett was also a member of the World Select Team at the 2017 Nike Hoop Summit. He earned MVP honours at the 2016 Jordan Brand Classic, with 22 points and eight assists. He averaged 18.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game at the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championships in Spain. Barrett was the youngest player on Canada’s national team that won silver at the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championships in Argentina. Pouring in 14.6 points a contest, he led the tournament in scoring.
